Re: New DLM on 21CN ADSL1

Thanks Matt...  I am aware of what the DLM does,my question is what is DLM quantisation.  I have noticed that my BT IPProfile is an odd number, see below, but my plusnet profile is lower than this, at 6Meg.  the BT profile seems to be a certain percentage of the line profile.  Is this a correct assumption, and should the Plusnet profile be the same or above the BT profile now....
Sync Speed is 7118 at the min, and has been since 30/07/11
PS Router is connected via screened RJ11 cable direct to the master socket fitted with a filtered faceplate.

Re: New DLM on 21CN ADSL1

To add - after a power cut my sync speed went to silly levels
Noise Margin:    5.3  dB
Connection Rate:  5536  Kbps
Line Attenuation: 51.0  dB
Power:            19.5  dBm
Max Rate:        5824  Kbps

This is the current stats after 20 minutes
Noise Margin:    3.0  dB
Connection Rate:  5536  Kbps
Line Attenuation: 51.0  dB
Power:            19.5  dBm
Max Rate:        5824  Kbps
This is the result from the BT speedtest also after 20 minutes at the higher speed - note that the speed is limited by the Plusnet profile set manually by Jojo at 4500kbps
This means that under the new system the profile change is almost instantaneous - that is going to really muck up the Plusnet mirror

Re: New DLM on 21CN ADSL1

Thanks for the links jim, interesting reading.....  Seems like BT have finally listened for once.  I too wonder how PlusNet are going to mirror, if these changes are immediate.  As my BT profile is 6229, but Plusnet profile is 6, however I am seeing speeds that are more like the BT profile.
