I'm beginning to think not. My reasons are:
1. My line was stable on ADSL until I was switched to ADSL2 on 27 October.
2. Since then, I have observed a loss of sync on 3 occasions either in the early hours overnight or in the evening.
3. Dropped PPP connections have been noticed on several occasions during the hours of darkness.
4. My IP Profile is now 2000 - the lowest it has been during the past 12 months.
The above leads me to believe that my line is not giving its' best.
How easy is it to switch back to ADSL1? - if this is the right way forward.
Any thoughts / suggestions would be much appreciated.

From our point of view the line was actually quite solid after the change to ADSL2+ (about 5 days in total)

Basically there's two routes to consider here, either raising a fault and see if the existing service can be improved or switch back to ADSL1. If you'd prefer the later we can usually do that within a couple of days.

Adam,
Thanks for your reply. I'm pleased that you think the line 'was actually quite solid' - long may it last!
During the period of your graph, the DSL drops happened on 03/11 19:56, 04/11 09:22, 07/11 04:38 and 07/11 10:59. The other drops were just PPP drops during hours of darkness when I'm fast asleep anyway and don't cause any problems.
The 1st and 3rd drops were random whilst the 2nd and 4th were manual restarts to achieve a higher sync rate.
The manual restart at 07/11 10:59 improved the sync rate to 3563 and download speed has gone to 2933 from 1783.
I not that my PN Line Speed shows 2Mb - no doubt it will catch up soon.
I'm willing to give ADSL2 a fair trial so perhaps another week of prayer might be the best course of action.
