Installed New Router to help with Speed and Stabilty

I have installed the newly provided router to see if this will help with Speed and Stability.
Is there anything I can do to get the speed up to a reasonable level, or will I just have to wait.
Should the training period be restarted now the new router is in place.

Re: Installed New Router to help with Speed and Stabilty

whats your line stats from before and now with the new router?
if the old router was causing sync problems the dlm may take a few days to feel comftable with the new router before trying new noise margins and removing banding ect

I will have to see how things go, not quite the 3500+ I was getting before on LLU but, its getting closer.
I had a ticket outstatinging on joining the Trial, I informed them this morning that the new Router has been installed and BT have now started the 10 day Training period again, fingers crossed.

Re: Installed New Router to help with Speed and Stabilty

Well I know I am in the training period again, but the line is very unstable tonight, lost sync about every 5-10 Minutes.  I will leave it a week/10 days to see how things go, but from the looks of things unless it settles down with the new router, then I think BT need to come out and check the line.  Things just are not right, only syncing at about 1000 again now.

Not at 57db atten no.
The DLM will allways sync on adsl2 (G.992.3) and not adsl2+(G.992.5) if none of the adsl2+ tones are not useable

Re: Installed New Router to help with Speed and Stabilty

Well, I know it has only been a few days since being on the new router, but things dont seem to be much better.
My sync speed has slowly dropped down from just under 3000 to 1200 again. Perhaps I need to get BT out after all, the rerun of the training period is up on Monday so if things do not improve I will be requestign BT to come out and take a look.  Going from a stable 3500 down stream connection to 1200 just is not on.

I was not aware of that. (In a Wayne's World style)
Thank you.

Re: Installed New Router to help with Speed and Stabilty

@amjrobson
It's not a banded profile, which was my first supicion when I saw the noise margin being over 15dB.  The lines not interleaved though, which could help.
Mind if I turn it on?

I've placed an order to enable interleaving for you, it should complete tomorrow.

@Orbrey
Is it possible to see on the Speedtouch 585 routers is the line is running a Fast or Interleaved path, I have not seen any change yet.

Re: Installed New Router to help with Speed and Stabilty

Well, I've checked on BTs system and it looks like you're on fastpath for both downstream and upstream at the moment. I 'm not sure about whether or not you can get that information from the Speedtouch but am asking about for you, as soon as I know I'll post back.

Depending on the router firmware version one of the following entered at the command line should give you the current channel mode.
:adsl info expand=enabled
or
:xdsl info expand=enabled
