am sorry to say yet again i am getting bad connections 
but BT and PN have ran all tests but cannot find any problems . And BT obviously keep moving My FTTC date further away 
so has any one have any suggestions , maybe a new router not a thompson as its the only thing i aint changed .

Won't comment about the rest of your stats, but what results do other speedtesters give you?
I've just run 3 tests in quick succession and got BT 1.76, MBS 4.1, Speedtest.net 8.46 (all Mbps.)
In general The BT performance tester seems back to its pre-update habit of slightly under-reporting compared with most others, but not by as much as it has done this morning!)

have just run a speed test , and all is back to normal ???. so if PN run tests now it will show all is ok , but somewhere something is amiss Especially as Mr BT man couldn't find the problem.
as a matter of interest the new Routers Technicolor are they more reliable ?

have just spoken to the call center , who advised me that apparently yesterday and today PN had major outages on broadband connections & this was the cause ?
i asked about swapping my router as as far as i can see its the only thing i haven't changed , he said you are trialing some new routers any chance i could test one for you

Not quite right I'm afraid, we are but only for fibre customers on the 80/20 trial.
I can't state for certain if the outage was the cause, if you've rebooted you should have been able to reconnect, if not then a fault would need to be raised.

Also worth trying speedtest.net for a speed test, as BT speed tester has had its moments lately. If you continue seeing 5Mbps below your profile and it's a wired test then it would need a fault.

Hi JoJo yes i am wired not in test socket as BT man says dont need too as no extensions only PC and 1 phone . troubleshooter on web page still tells me ERROR and wont go any further , have posted a question tho

have just been checking my system , Run Ccleaner, malwarebytes, hijack this . and anti virus MS security esentials , all shows clear
