Thanks for the consolidated info.
So am I right in thinking that:-
1. Removing the bell wire is like fitting an I-Plate
2. Fitting an I-Plate is probably less risky (from doing damage to the master socket)
3. The bedt option would actually be to replace the faceplate with a dedicated pre-filtered faceplate which separates voice and ASDL
Cheers

Hi,
I have done some more testing tonight, after reading the info provided today strat as I didn't realise there was a test socket behind the face plate.
Using just the test socket I get a slightly higher sync in both ASDL2+ and G.DMT with the latter proving slightly higher as before at 5856kbps which is roughly 400kbps higher so there is definately some room for improvement as it will at least but me on a 5000 profile, so will probbaly change the face plate in the near future to attain this.
I am a little confused why the ASDL2+ protocal is sycning lower than G.DMT as I would have expected it to be the other way round. Has the regrade definately completed successfully?
Cheers
Minimos

Hi minimos,
Your regrade has definitely gone through. We are seeing a few customers reporting lower sync speeds using G.DMT on ADSL 2+ so this will be looked into. However if connecting to the test socket shows improvement you may wish to try replacing it or at least look at what devices are being connected to it.
As a slight aside to this I have had a look at the connection logs on your account and can see you were experiencing quite a few drops right up until Sunday evening (around 6pm) now that things are more stable the connection profile should uplift from 4500kbps to 5500 after 48 hours of solid connectivity. I have lifted the profile on your account in anticipation of this to make sure our profile matches that of our suppliers.

Hi Adam,
The drops were probably due to me rebooting the modem and disconnecting various things whilst at the test socket last week over a number of days (and potentially 1 on Sunday when the missus pulled the plug out of the router by mistake).
As mentioned previously I'll probably replace the face socket at the NTE5 for filtered one shortly.
Just to clarify 1 point in your post, I am seeing higher syncs with the G.DMT protocol rather than ASDL2+ and presume this is what you mean, rather than lower syncs for customers on G.DMT?
Cheers
