Maybe best to report the post and ask the mods to split it off. Smiley

Re: CSC Agents not answering the right question

Thanks Strat, it is appreciated.
We are having the wrong kind of rain today to create the problems, as it is snowing rather than raining! I dont this flakey stuff is going to get into the junction box enough to cause a problem.

Re: CSC Agents not answering the right question

Well I got home and found the snow was enough to make the line drop again. Now waiting for another engineer visit on Tuesday.

Re: CSC Agents not answering the right question

Another Engineer has been and gone, it didnt take long this time, they run all the line tests which of course pass fine as it is not raining.
It is very sad, it clear there is a 'standard process' which is to be followed at all times and not to be deviated from. The last engineer, who visited on the 13th ,a while after rain had been at least had detected a fault 1560m from the house, this put the fault in an area where there are 4 poles. I suggested to the Engineer today that we go pour water over the junction boxes to see if we can aggravate the problem, it seems that is not possible.

Sounds like a good idea, did the engineer go ahead with this?

Re: CSC Agents not answering the right question

sorry, evidently didn't read that properly! probably a good idea though all the same although I can appreciate if the engineer had concerns about that.

Re: CSC Agents not answering the right question

Surely a quick trip down the road shortly before the engineer is due with one of these is what's needed!

Re: CSC Agents not answering the right question

Looked out the window this evening, could see a heavy rainstorm on the way ... routerstats showed the following.
Would say there is still a problem. Next engineer visit this Wednesday.

Re: CSC Agents not answering the right question

About 2 years ago I suffered from a similar rain related problem and every time a BT engineer called they could find nothing wrong.
In the end, some 3 months later, someone on here suggested I send an email to the CE of BT. I did not think it would do any good, but it was either that or taking a long walk off a short pier !
I got a nice polite reply from someone in his office, but offering no fix.
However, within 48 hours I had a phone call from a BT engineer who told me he had been assigned to resolve my problems whatever it took. I even had his personal contact number so that I could speak to him at any time.
What it took to resolve my problem was a complete new cable from my master socket to the pole in the street and a complete new pair to the exchange plus a new DSLAM ? connection in the exchange, after which the fault never returned.
Now at no time did anyone admit that my email to the CE had anything to do with the engineer turning up and sorting it, but I don't think it would have been resolved without that email.
As I'm now suffering from another intermittant problem that PN & BT can't find, maybe another such email is due.
Dave.
