A Few Questions about upload

Hello basically i play my xbox competitively i was top 10 for halo 3 in the UK , and my girlfriend has been living with me for two years now who also play seriously and our connection is very good for where i live, a 8mb exchange and we are getting 6.6mb down and 0.6mb upload 24ms to london via trance fm, all sounds good but with two xboxes on at once plus thing change its laggy but not through a bad line, just 0.3 upload each isnt to great i understand some people would love that. i have a top of the range daulband ntgear router and 2 new 360s both wired both portforwarded. i was wondering if its possible to decrease the download to say 4.5 in order to increase the upload, i understand some isps can do this,also is a vpn worth having and would it help me, thanks your a very helping and good isp.

On an up to 8Mb connection the only way to increase your speed is to pay extra for Max Premium.

as you say you get 600 upload I assume you are on 21 cn as the limit on adsl is 480

if you are on  21cn adsl2, its free and can be higher

Can you post your router stats? If you're on Max Premium, you should probably be getting more than 0.6 upstream.

Is the upload speed the problem? I would have thought it would be more likely a LAN problem.

ill post my router stats in a moment, it isnt a LAN  problem my sync speed is 0.832 for my upload i think ill post it im shure my home network is fine ive had my fiend who works with it check it all up. im not on 21cn   network, although all my local bt manwhole covers have got around noting to widen them and dots next to every houses external wires on my street, although there is no update on www.samknows.com about my exchange, which is Cawood btw if anyone else knows another way of checking when updates are due, ive tried on bt wholesale and samknows which are mentioned above. thanks

im not complaining about how much upload im getting out of 0.8 im just wondering if i can get it higher than that as 6.6 dw is more than we need that could go down to 4 and it would still work just the xbox 360 need 0.5 up to run the games we play at minimum and with us both on its 0.3 and with my dad on his laptop that will be abit less still im basicaly wondering if its possible to get it over the 0.8 mark in the way of decreasing my download. and also if a vpn is a good thing o and also i have the pro add on aswell.

I don't think your upload can get any higher until 21c reaches your exchange.

Hi thecalpins,
Might be worth using something like inSSIDer to see if it's worth changing the wireless channel you're on and maybe get a better reception.
