Manual reconnect

Following an outage your router should reconnect automatically, however, there may be times when a manual reconnect is required. To manually reconnect please follow the steps below:
1. Open your web browser (This could be Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox, depending on your system).
2. Ignore the web page (or error message) that appears and enter the IP address of your router. This should be 192.168.1.254 unless you've changed it.

If you're asked to log in, enter the Router Username and Password (the username is usually 'admin' and the password is the router serial number, this starts with CP - note that admin is in lowercase and the serial number is in capitals).
3. You should now be able to see the main interface page of the Thompson router. It should look similar to the image below depending on which version of the router you may have.

4. Click 'connect' to restore your connection.
If you cannot see 'connect' try clicking 'home' on the left hand side menu.

Note: Most of our customers have found success is doing this but you may need to enter your username and password as this might be missing. When entering your username make sure you are using the applicable realm:

  • @plusdsl.net. For example username@plusdsl.net

  • @free-online.net. For example username@free-online.net

  • @madasafish.com. For example username@madasafish.com

  • @go-broadband.com. For example username@go-broadband.com

  • @totalise.co.uk. For example username@totalise.co.uk

  • @f9.co.uk. For example username@f9.co.uk

  • @dsl2.net. For example username@dsl2.net

You should now be back online.
