VOIP going straight to voicemail

« on 23/10/2009, 11:49 »
Please help. From about 11am today, my VOIP phone went offline. I have re-registered it but calls are going straight to Plusnet's voicemail. I've tried sip.plus.net and sip2.plus.net with the same results.

I remember that this happened once before and I wasn't the only one affected.

Gradwell servicestatus has said that they're having a couple of routing issues.  I suspect it's related.

I spoke to someone earlier who wasn't able to make a call and it suddenly started working.

Hi James,

The Gradwell service status implies that things are now fixed but my problem is persisting.

Should I raise a ticket? I can't think what I might have to do to get this working again.

Please do.  The guys that answer these types of tickets understand VoIP better than I do.

Do keep me posted though.

I've had my ticket in since 2pm yesterday and it said at the time that the waiting time was under 5 hours. My problem is still persisting. Is there any way that this can be dealt with sooner? It is rather urgent.

I'm still waiting for this problem to be rectified. It is imperative that I have this sorted out for the beginning of the working day on Monday. Why is my ticket taking so long to be actioned?

Hi Annie,

I'm sorry it's taking longer than normal to get this resolved for you. If you wish please send me a PM with the ticket number and i'll log in and see what I can do.

Annie,

There is nothing in the 'outbound proxy' field.
It should be 'natproxy.plus.net'.

That's it! Thank you so much MisterW. I've been pulling my hair out all weekend over this. You're a life-saver.

You're welcome Annie, happy to be able to help.

BTW if you are in the market for a second handset for your C475 you might want to look at my post here http://community.plus.net...x.php/topic,75953.48.html.
I got one yesterday and it works fine with my C475 , all the functionality of the C47H ( maybe not ECO Dect ! ) and at £27.97 is a lot cheaper than a C47H at  £40 odd.
