This may be right forum for this, or not!

On my own laptop I have Thunderbird as degault client but any e mails I send to
my office address never get through. I have tried sending from various e mail a/c's
but none arrive; neither do I get bounce message.

As my Vista laptop, also has Win Mail & Win Live Mail, also experimented sending
from those; both arrive OK.

What in T'Bird could be upsetting server?
Our IT weren't over helpful, stating some new policy was stopping any apparently private e mails
coming in; however that can't be true/they must be confused.

If your IT department are silently blocking what they consider to be private e-mails without returning an appropriate bounce it's time you took a machine gun down to the IT department!

Have you had a chance to confirm that anyone else using TB can get emails in?

Seem to have found cure by changing outgoing font encodings to Western ISO 8859-15 from 8859-1

May be useful for someone else in future.

Don't  know of any other users, but same IT fault relates to people who've left;
their in bound messages go in black hole, have no bounce advise either.

I send from business address too and have same grief, and one clue may be that when
I bcc to my myself and open in O/Express I get the Active X screen pop up warning.

There's no animations on my T Birds e mails, just text e mail sig block.
Guess something in T Bird's html code it objects too.
