Product Refresh

The thing that gets me is that Plusnet already had an unlimited product with Pro as long as you were willing to pay for the extra usage. The problem seems to be that people don't want to pay for what they use above the included allowance.
If a refusal offends..... Don't ask!
If thar ever offered owt, tek it tha might not want it na but tha cud need it later.

Am I reading the expected downstream speeds correctly  - at peak times on Unlimited and Value nothing goes over 2Mb/s

There are rate limits in place at peak times yes, advanced protocols will be limited to 2Mb/s, however all the time sensitive protocols will be proiritised (browsing, VoIP, etc) without rate limits.

Perhaps it should say that as the previous tables did

I beg to differ. From the Blog Page, the title says 'Unlimited Broadband'. From Plusnet home page 'Plusnet Unlimited Broadband'. I agree that in bold it says 'Unlimited Usage' in the product features, but I do not see an equal emphasis on 'rate limited at certain times of day.

So to recap the marketing says very clearly:
Unlimited Broadband
Unlimited Usage

Now hunt for the restrictions.

I agree that needs to be clarified. We're looking at getting the expected speeds link somewhere more prominent.

I see that they seem to have done away with BBYW 1,2,3

Questions

Plus net value is priced on where you live, low cost area is £5.99 and stays that, other area the price varies, what is a lost cost area

this page http://www.plus.net/residential/bundles.shtml doesnt display correct on Firefox, it has bad overprinting

Low cost areas are those that are classed as Market 3 exchanges. Chucking your number into the line checker will tell you which market you're classified as.

Your usage will have been reset as part of the product change. As soon as you have some usage we'll show it to you. Wink

I can't see anything wrong in Firefox - try refreshing the page with a CTRL F5 - if that doesn't fix it do a Screengrab! and post it.

From the residential products page:

Quote
** - Plusnet Value broadband starts at £5.99 a month. If you live in one of our low cost areas then you'll pay this price every month. If you live outside of one of these areas then you'll pay £5.99 a month for the first 3 months and £11.99 a month thereafter.

- Plusnet Unlimited broadband starts at £11.99 a month. If you live in one of our low cost areas you'll then pay £15.99 a month every month thereafter. If you live outside of one of these areas you'll then pay £19.99 a month thereafter.

Thereafter how long? As it reads at the moment just the first month will be at £11.99 - is that correct or is it after three months like Value?

What about those customers who signed up on 12 month contracts on the special offers - can we move to the new products or not

Yep they can, you'll need to sign up for an 18 month contract as per new customers, but you'll also get the same lead price as them. You'll lose any existing discounts you may have on your account if you switch.
If I am reading this correctly. On the existing Option 1 10GB special deal (£5.50 for 3 months) it would be better to wait until the 3 months runs out before switching

The lead price is for 3 months, we've got a problem raised on this as the text is missing this info.

We still do have Pro. The new Unlimited product is aimed at people who want no limits on their usage, but are happy to offset this with managed traffic at peak times. Pro users get full speed at all times.
