Redirects failing?

« on 06/12/2008, 13:12 »
I've just got a bounce from sending an email to one of my redirects.
The header from the bounced messsage is below (with usernames/domains obscured).

The original message was sent from a gmail account to an address unconnected to Plus/Force9, and CCd to 2 redirects on my force9 hosted domain (obscured as "force9 hosted domain1"). Only one of the redirects seems to have bounced (so far - it took many hours for the bounce to appear). Just to complicate things, the sending gmail account is setting the From address to be a username on a different force9 hosted domain (obscured as "force9 hosted domain2").

The headers and bounce message don't seem to contain any useful info as to why it failed, as far as I can see. Only one of the redirects (obscured as "<redirect2>") seems to have bounced so far, though they are both redirecting to exactly the same external address.

This all worked OK before the changes.

Are redirects flakey? Is there something in the header that says why it failed? If not, then please add something.

I'm not aware of any problems affecting redirects. Are you able to PM me with the unsanitised headers and full body of the bounce message? I'll then make sure this gets looked into tomorrow. Is it just one of your redirects that's affected and is the problem intermittent or is no email getting through at all?
