Plusnet To Plusnet (Internal) Emails On Ironport

« on 27/11/2008, 18:22 »
Bob

My free Plus.com email account has been transferred to Ironport successfully it seems thanks.

Just one question so far, if Iam sending and email from my F9 account to a plus.com, should this be scanned by Ironport or should this just get delivered direct to the users mailbox without being scanned?

Iam asking as I have tried sending from plus.com to plus.com and their are no Ironport headers, also the same goes from F9 to plus.com their are no Ironport headers in the email.

With the postini system all messages were filtered via Postini.

Should this behaviour be happening?

Thanks

Andy

It should be scanned. Do you have spam filtering switched off on the .plus.com account? If you do then your DNS will have been changed to bypass IronPort. This is a little different to how things worked with Postini.

I've sent you a PM Andy. I've just tried sending an email from a Plusnet account to a Force 9 one and it went through IronPort.

Bob

I have sent you a PM with a copy of one of the headers.

Thanks

Thanks Andy, as we've discovered it looks like it was just a case of the Webmail relays caching old DNS data. As I  understand it, everything's OK now?

Give me a shout if you have any further problems.
