Quarantine questions

I've only just found out about Ironport since I haven't been reading the forums for a while.

I won't be sad to see the back of Postini in many ways - owing to the large number of false positives (including all my phone bills!).

However I am very disappointed, like some others here, with the loss of a single account for quarantining emails.  I don't want my young children to get quarantine emails, which is the whole point of using it in the first place!  I think the changes here will render it useless for me.

I wish to add my vote to reinstate this functionality.

Has anyone been able to look at the internal problem 54258 which you raised on 30th November, Re White List for both my f9.co.uk not showing my whole white list in the quarantine when force9.co.uk domain is fine.

Yes, I personally checked another 20 F9 accounts with blacklist/whitelist entries prior to migration an none exhibited the same problem. I also had somebody check the scripts out and they looked OK too. I think this might have been a single user issue that affected just your account. If you haven't done already then I'd suggest re-adding the missing entries as I remember you saying this seemed to work?

I wish to add my vote to reinstate this functionality.

@mapletree, if we couldl have retained the functionality then we would have. Our intention throughout the initial migration was to keep as much functionality the same as possible. Sadly, I don't think it's going to be possible to retain this functionality with IronPort.

Do we have to log in to the quarantine system separately for each alias? I was moved over yesterday and haven't had a quarantine email which I find difficult to believe - I've tried logging in to quarantine with the name of a mailbox and found nothing, but it has loads of aliases so I'm wondering if I haven't looked in the right place.

Is there anyone that knows the answer to this question?

@jelv, I can see you've asked this same question across multiple threads (and started a new thread on the subject). If you're not getting an answer to your question after posting about it then give me a nudge with a PM and I'll normally be able to provide an answer within a day or two. It confuses things when the same question in being asked across multiple threads.

Just to clarify, are you talking about emails sent to a catch-all here, or are you talking about emails that are sent to aliases pointing to another mailbox?

Aliases pointing to another mailbox

12/18 month broadband contracts have been abolished - all Plusnet residential contracts (including for existing users) are now 10 days (however deferred charges such as activation or hardware may have to be paid if you leave within a year)

Hi Bob

Thanks for looking at this.
This does seem to be a strange issue for myself, especially with the f9.co.uk domain.
Prior to Ironport migration I had 32 items listed in MMM for both force9.co.uk & f9.co.uk on the whitelist.

In the Quarantine list on IronPort my force9.co.uk list was replicated exactly when logged in under this domain, but when logged under f9.co.uk non were added.

I have since added a further 6 address to both domains to the white lists in MMM, now in Ironport Quarantine for force9.co.uk domain I have 38 items whitelisted, but only 6 for f9.co.uk, starting to get strange now.

I have since removed all of the addresses via MMM, and readded them in different orders etc, trying to mirror the force9.co.uk whitelist but for somereason it will still list the additional 6 addresses that I have whitelisted on both domains since IronPort migration.

Are you able to look at my MMM whitelists and compare them to the actual lists on my domains in the Ironport system?

To me it looks like it just does not like the items in my whitelist for my f9.co.uk lsit prior to migration, and only wanting to list any newones that I have added since migration.

Thanks

Andy
