Hi

The ticket was closed by yourself, if you wish to take this, then please go to trials.plus.net and resubmit the ticket.

The domain that will be added is username.plushost.co.uk, you are unable to pick which domain you get.

Let me know if you have any further queries.
Kind Regards, Kevin Mawson

Sorry

Dumbo comes to mind - RTFM properly

Anyway - got it all working thanks Kev.

Just a small point :

in the instructions it says:

"2. In the ‘Domains’ section of the home screen, click on the Green “VR” button to the left of your website name (eg username.plushost.co.uk)."

Well the VR button appeared to be blue to me and not Green Huh? - and I'm not colour blind - or wasn't last time I was tested !!!.

another small difference from the PAYH

the document folder on the trial system is /httpdocs/ - whereas on PAYH it is /htdocs/   ? ? ?

Kev,

Any ideas on unpacking a tar.gz install file into my plushost trial space? See my previous post (last one on page 1 of this thread) for more details.

I was wondering if I can send a command via a cron script, or is there any other way you know?

I'm already missing the shell access for install jobs like this. Hopefully this new system will redeem itself in many other ways that the old system fell short of the mark on.

Kev,

Now that is service!

PM on its way to you with the details.

By the way, Firefox just gave me a certificate warning today (which it didn't yesterday) when accessing the Plesk control panel. It told me the certificate only covered the domain *.plus.net and I was obviously accessing:- username.plushost.co.uk:8443

Either something has changed today, or I am accessing it differently today. Thought you might like to know anyway. I've installed the certificate as an exception, so that it doesn't pester me again.

Hi

Done for ya

if you go to http://username.plushost.co.uk it wont give you an error. Its due to us having the cert on there for *.plus.net, so when entering https://username.plushost.co.uk its not matching the cert but is still secure

We advise people to access the Plesk host via plesk-host0x.plus.net to avoid that. ie https://plesk-host01.plus.net:8443/ if your site is on Host box 01.

Just signed up for the trial - just wondering what the location of sendmail is?
From a phpinfo() I just did it returns: /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

But Swiftmailer is returning an error
Code:
Sendmail cannot be seen with lstat()

So when I try it manually:
Code:
print_r( lstat('/usr/sbin/sendmail'));

I get the following error:
Code:
open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/sbin/sendmail) is not within the allowed path(s)

So it seems I cannot actually access sendmail. Will that be a permanent restriction on the final platform?

Thanks, Ben

I suspect apache is chrooted, although you should be able to use the mail() function from within php

Quick question regarding the migration from the current CGI set-up...

Will someone be penning a small FAQ to help those of us who host WordPress blogs within our current CGI space? Lord above, I'm only a very limited 'techy' and I've already forgotten most of the stuff I did to get the blinking things running in the first place!!  I'm now mortifiied with fear at the prospect of it all crashing about my ears...

Regards, Ken.
