No probs - in the meantime i'd try flicking between nat.plus.net and natproxy.plus.net and see if you see any differences between the 2. Like all things SIP it seems that you could potentially have a slightly different performance quality on either despite them being pretty much the same in config - noting the changes would massively help with Peter's new nat proxy testing as well.

cheers

Rich,

For info, I dont use the proxy at all. My router ( 2700HGV ) has a SIP ALG which works and so that performs any NAT traversal needs and therefore I dont need to use the outbound proxy.

I have started getting these emails, yesterday and today.  I wouldnt mind, but my sjphone says I am offline all the time and I cant ring in or out! So they are totally irrelevant if not useless.

You can turn them off at https://voip.plus.net/login/account_overview if you do not wish to receive them anymore.

well I would have liked to receice these alerts if  I am offline. But as I was online and using the net at the t ime I received them means they aren't accurate. Turning it off just so you dont get inaccurate alerts isnt really the answer.

I agree with Indizine. The messages are useless as they stand as they don't reflect the true position..  But we do want to know if our line goes 'off line'  without knowing it.

I'm still receiving them - I've had several emails today when they say my Plusnet Voip circuit went off line at -
The SIP ID 6xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-13 03:14:16, went offline at 2008-10-14 11:18:11
The SIP ID 6xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-14 11:18:29, went offline at 2008-10-14 17:32:14.
The SIP ID 6xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-14 17:32:32, went offline at 2008-10-14 18:43:41
The SIP ID 6xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-14 18:44:07, went offline at 2008-10-14 19:28:58

Are these the times that others PlusNet VoIP circuits are going 'offline'?

I have no problems dialling out at any time but when the number is connected to my Asterisk PABX - I have periods when incoming calls cannot be received  on the PSTN (Public 01XXX  XXXXXX ) number although the the circuit shows as 'registered' as far as the Asterisk is concerned. All an incoming caller from BT receives is either Numbe Unobtainable tone or a BT message saying that ' there is a problem with the number.'

Mine reported EXACTLY the same times yesterday see below:-

The SIP ID 8xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-13 03:25:11, went offline at 2008-10-14 11:18:11.
The SIP ID 8xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-14 11:22:41, went offline at 2008-10-14 17:32:14.
The SIP ID 8xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-14 17:44:24, went offline at 2008-10-14 18:43:41.
The SIP ID 8xxxxxx which has been connected since 2008-10-14 18:57:01, went offline at 2008-10-14 19:28:58.

Just coincidental ? I think not...

Looks like a problem at the server end!

Strowger - I've just been dealing with another community site user is on asterisk with the same issue and I got Gradwell to move them to a slightly modified version of our platform which is catered more for multi-line centrex accounts - he found that asterisk worked a lot better. Let me know if you want to be moved to it and hopefully that should solve your problems. The platform is designed for Asterisk boxes so I very much doubt anyone not using asterisk would see the same performance improvements on the alternate platform (its basically a different realm/domain but you need to be white listed first).

Hi Rich

I think I know who you mean!    It was he and I discussing the problem that brought the 'time co-incience' to light.

I'd be more than happy to try the other platform as I'm still receiving 'Your broadbandphone has gone off line'  but it has after a few days realised that it is now back connected to my Asterisk,

The system works fine for outgoing calls but hasn't been reliable enough to give the PSTN number out to others - too often either NU tone or 'This number is currently unavailable' was received by incoming callers.

You've been added to the PBX12 server now - please replace sip.plus.net with lon-pbx-12.plus.net, save the setting and reboot your equipment and hopefully you'll see an improvement.

cheers

Hi Rich

Reset things on my Asterisk and it seems a lot better.  Haven't managed to get an incoming call to end up with NU tone or a BT message as yet.

Brilliant news - its quite strange how devices navigate through certain SIP setups. Almost like each has a slightly different bahaviour - im guessing this is just one of those things, cant think of any reason why our instance of the gradwell platform (sip.plus.net) doesnt seem to fully support asterisk users.
