4OD via the web

Looks like 4OD are now allowing streaming of the last 7 days programmes via a browser integrated media player as opposed to having to download and install 4OD. The following's from an email I received earlier today:

From now on, you can catch up on shows that you've missed from the last 7 days, immediately and absolutely FREE, at channel4.com/watchonline. That means you can watch the latest Channel 4 programmes without having to open 4oD every time, or on a PC that doesn’t have 4oD installed already.

I'm sure I've tried that recently from my Linux box and it kept insisting I needed to install Silverlight - which I believe is only available to Microsoft Windows users.

Can anyone confirm this?

That's ITV streaming - and I couldn't get it to work under windows / firefox even though i had silverlight installed - had to use windows / IE

Thanks for that, I'll give the 4OD a go tonight from Linux to see if it lets me stream it like the iplayer does.

Tried using the 4OD from my Linux box with Firefox as the web browser and I just get messages about needing Windows Internet Explorer and Media player, so doesn't seem to be available to all users in the same way that the BBC iplayer streaming is.

I can play some of the short clips though!
