When you read some of the explanations in the glossary they feature others words featured in the glossary. How about linking the word to the explanation. This could be either as a book mark of hover text.
If a refusal offends..... Don't ask!
If thar ever offered owt, tek it tha might not want it na but tha cud need it later.

In view of comment on the UserGroup site, here, I suggest adding an explanation of

Ticket

Suggestions I have made in the PUG forum that I repeat here in case they get overlooked.

And then,

dB, deciBel, 1/10th of a Bel. It is a logarithmic expression of a power ratio, used so that gains and losses may be added or subtracted to or from a signal, instead of multiplying and dividing. The Bel is a large unit hence the use of deciBels.
 
Example: if the power ratio is 2:1 or 1:2 then the difference is said to be 3dB (approx). Log2 is .3010, so ten times log2 is 3.01dB.

And,

dBm0, This indicates a reference level of 1 milliWatt, taken as 0. Thus a power level of +3dBm0 is 2mW and one of       -3dBm0 is 1/2 mW.

Brownout (electricity) drop in voltage in an electrical power supply, so named because it typically causes lights to dim.

In computer security, a sandbox is a security mechanism for safely running programs. It is often used to execute untested code, or untrusted programs from unverified third-parties, suppliers and untrusted users.

The sandbox typically provides a tightly-controlled set of resources for guest programs to run in, such as scratch space on disk and memory. Network access, the ability to inspect the host system or read from input devices are usually disallowed or heavily restricted. In this sense, sandboxes are a specific example of virtualization.

A roadmap may refer to:

    * A map of roads, and possibly other features, to aid in navigation
    * A plan, e.g.
          o Road map for peace, to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
          o Technology roadmap, a management forecasting tool

I guess that goes for any page in the DIY support area - such wording might help elevate perceptions of this area to something along the lines of a vast and immensely readable PN-provided relevant-information-resource rather than 'a-place-for-techno-divs-with-problems'.

Appreciate that this isn't a glossary suggestion, but just so you know Strat...

vISP: A virtual ISP.  Basically an ISP held within a parent ISP.  So for example, Force9 is a vISP of PlusNet PLC.

Realm: The bit after the @ sign in your broadband username, eg: @plusdsl.net or @metro1.net. These are different to vISPs as each vISP can have multiple realms.  It's just part of the authentication process when connecting to broadband.

vISP = virtual Internet Service Provider.

Plusnet have a few of 'em - such as Metronet and Force9 - basically they are ISPs that exist, but just share all of the parent company's infrastructure, staff etc.

Realm = When you enter the login name into your modem/router, the realm is the @plusdsl.net part. When anybody orders an ADSL line activation from BT Wholesale, they have to tell them what they want this part to be - each one of these 'realms' has a defined route to the ISP coded into the BT network.
Its this 'realm' which ties the connection to PN - only authentication credentials matching these will be successfully routed to the ISP and eventually the internet. (Its why you can't use Orange ADSL credentials to log on to a PN ADSL line.)
