Hi

Does anyone know if the Sky/Netgear DG834GT routers are locked to Sky?
If so, are they un-lockable?

Thanks
Peter

Yes they are locked to Sky and I believe you can un-lock them with a firmware flash - but as usual at your own risk

Have a look at http://www.skyuser.co.uk/...-got-my-sky-password.html

Very unlockable indeed!

Google should get you lots of advice on how to do it.

FYI I'm on Be not PN these days and the DG834GT is a favourite for Be's ADSL2+ connections as the chip sets match the Be DSLAM's. Indeed I use one myself (not ex-Sky, but bought long ago and used with PN). Loads of Be users buy cheap ex-Sky routers and re-flash the firmware.  Grin

£20 is the going rate + £5 delivery.
Why do you want one?

I need the wireless facility which my current router doesn't have.  I do also have a Speedtouch 585v6 but no matter what I do I cannot get it to forward ports properly.  I thought I might have more luck with the Netgear.  From what I've read it seems these are two of the better routers.
