I understand that Razer, but the more info we get the sooner we can resolve this. Please don't think that just because we've had 1 night of slightly less complaints that we think it's fixed, we know that there's an issue.

Yeah, I just wanted to make the point that it's likely more widespread than is apparent from the posts of those actively posting. After all, not all members of PN post on this forum.
I do understand the more info you get the better. I wish I could deal with giving you more myself, but for me it's just a case of the more I focus on it, the angrier I get. Oh, and I'd rather spend my time enjoying the games I can get into and that run smoothly, than taking tests, getting screenshots and whatever else. As a point, I'm browsing here and posting so much today specifically because I have been avoiding trying my game because I'm not minded to be dealing with problems myself and trying to fix them by hopping. That said, I might have a try in a few minutes because I am itching.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Also noticed ptw-ag03 has been "lumpy" tonight.
Would be great kelly and the team could post some Peakflow SP Collector  data  for the e100's

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Final post tonight:
Fateway pcl-ag06
Speedtest:

Pingtest:
Jitter up a little but still acceptable.

TBB monitor:

Not looking so good, quite a few high peaks and a lot of latency creeping in at peak times.
Speedwise seemed ok on this gateway.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Just thought i would check in  Smiley
I have not used my connection tonight, seems like less people have been posting , which is hopefully a good thing.
All ok at the mo, but that's what i would expect at 2.30 in the morning  Smiley

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Ok my line stats from SamKnows white box on three gateways over last week
24th Feb plc-ag04
27th plc-ag08
3/4th March ptw-ag01
I've been gateway hopping trying to find a good gateway but seems not possible, problem starts during peak times outside those times everything Ok

Re: Peak time latency spikes

The problem I've had is that since 26th Feb, although speed and ping are the same as usual at around 8Megs and 34ms, some web pages are extremely slow to load. In particular the Met Office forecast and observations maps won't load at all using Explorer, and only very slowly with Opera which is the browser I normally use. The time of day doesn't seem to have much bearing on it, but something is definitely not right. It isn't the sites themselves, because a friend a couple of miles away using Orange has no problem - although in a few days, they, on my recommendation, will be switching to PN - hope I haven't made a mistake with that  Huh

Re: Peak time latency spikes

@Scribe
Met Office home page loads OK for me but the coverage map (City of London) won't load at all in Chrome browser and loads instantly in Firefox (on a Mac). In Chrome several of the Javascripts on the page don't load. So it looks very much like the problem is the web site itself which isn't playing nicely with your web browser. Try Firefox and see if that fixes it.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

@Bright Do you mean this page - http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/se_forecast_weather.html
Loads instantly here using the latest Chrome (Version 25.0.1364.152 m)

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Just tried Firefox, and it's a bit better, probably 'cos it's a faster browser anyway, but still not good. This is the site I'm talking about http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/#?tab=map&map=CloudAndRain&zoom=6&lon=-4.00&lat=...

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Thanks Scribe, just tried it with Chrome loaded within half a second. I think Bright may want to check what version of browser he is using, or possibly clear the cache & history to see
if that helps.

Re: Peak time latency spikes

@shalom2010
Sorry, your link got truncated by the forum so didn't work. But the page I was having problems with is this.
@Scribe
That link doesn't load at all in Chrome 25.0.1364.152 on my Mac, but loads quickly in Firefox 19.0. But I'm on FTTC with a download rate of 72Mbit/s. To load that page, your browser makes 122 requests to the web server and downloads 1.1MB of data. So no wonder it loads slowly on a slower link. It's a very data-intensive web page!

That sounds like something different to the problem being discussed in here. Can I suggest you start a new thread and we'll pick it up separately?

@Bright, just tried your link, loaded again very fast. I think you need Windows 8 (sorry for the swear word!!!)

Re: Peak time latency spikes

Agree Chris, although I think it's not a Plusnet problem but a Met Office problem.
@shalom2010
Definitely a compatibility problem:

Yet another web site that hasn't tested its code properly. Glad to hear it works on Win8, but I think I'll pass on your suggestion  Wink
