cj.dotomi

Have any of you guys experienced this nasty please? It's a long story with so far no answer despite contacting malwaresbytes etc and trying several of the alleged solutions suggested after googling. If you have experienced it I'd be very grateful to read how you got out of it.

Re: cj.dotomi

The hardest malware to remove is that one that uses a trick you don't expect.  I suggest you check that your DNS server IP is what it is supposed to be and also that you are not using a proxy server.  Either of these tricks can be used to foist 'extras' on you when you try to surf the net.  These changes probably won't be caught by your security software and they will persist even when the malware that made them has been removed.

Re: cj.dotomi

So it's because Microsoft give write permission to wherever it stores your DNS address(s).
Isn't that like saying "please hack me"?

Nobody ever said that Microsoft (except themselves) were good at writing code... Grin
