Unlimited fibre extra

Hi,
Just been looking on the Plusnet website and have a question.
Having entered my phone number it tells me I can get fibre to my premises at a a particular speed. Checking other sites indicates I can't so is Plusnet just saying if I could get fibre it would be at this speed or are they ahead of the game? As far as I know we are due to be fibre enabled soon.
Thanks
-Mat

Re: Unlimited fibre extra

Well it doesn't mention fibre or fttc but what is copper multicast? That's available but had no speeds listed.
Thanks

Re: Unlimited fibre extra

If it doesn't mention fibre it generally means it's not available for your line unless a database is out of date (unlikely)

Re: Unlimited fibre extra

That's what I thought 😞
The Markyate exchange has a date of Calendar Year 2015. Any tips as to how I'll know when this has happened? Or do I just check the various websites?
Thanks

Re: Unlimited fibre extra

Remember it's not just your exchange that needs enabling for fibre but the local cabinet your line is connected to.
Bookmark the link I gave you and keep checking it occasionally.
Find your cabinet in the area and see if there is a new green fibre cabinet near it.

Re: Unlimited fibre extra

Yep. I saw this before thanks. It says we should be upgraded between April and December this year, hence my initial question.
I'll have a look at the cabinet on my way home tonight and see if there's anything obvious happened.
Thanks

Occasionally http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk can have a little more info on timescales.

Re: Unlimited fibre extra

Our cabinet has a new mini cabinet next to it and a whole bunch of openreach barriers around it so I guess we will have fibre available soon.
Thanks for all your help everyone.
