Plusnet Business supports Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday On Saturday 7th December 2013 the UK is celebrating its inaugural ‘Small Business Saturday’ event. This government backed campaign is supported by the Prime Minister and run by American Express. It is a day to encourage support for and to champion the 5 million small businesses in the UK. The aim of the day is to remind consumers how important small businesses are in the UK – particularly important in the current economic climate - and to encourage consumers to show support by placing their trade with a small business on 7th December.   The idea originally started in America, where it has become so successful it is now an established commercial holiday and generated $5.5 billion in sales last year. Plusnet Business supports Small Business Saturday. Head of Business, Nick Silverwood, explained: “Our business packages are designed for SME’s; from the home worker to larger businesses with 50 employees or more.  So we were delighted when we heard about Small Business Saturday, because it will directly help our customers. We’d like to encourage consumers across Britain to support a local small business this Saturday.” There are numerous local councils and businesses getting involved around the country in a variety of ways - Christmas markets, free parking and festive fun days to name but a few.  Visit the website for more information on what is going on in your local area and how you can get involved.
