port fowarding

Can someone help?

See my attachment, both portchecker and yougetsignal both say the port is closed, why?

In the 'show ip address' column I have selected my internal device which needs to accept connections

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: port fowarding

@rod-router

There is nothing wrong with the port forward rule you have setup

On the Hub Two looking in >Technical Log >Event Log do you see for the time you tested the connection using portchecker or yougetsignal these entries? (The 192.168.10.220 will be your listening device)

19:04:39, 02 Sep. FWL Port Forward Server(192.168.10.220) TCP 5006 accepted a new connection from 85.255.232.96

19:04:38, 02 Sep. FWL Port Forward Server(192.168.10.220) TCP 5006 accepted a new connection from 85.255.232.96

These are examples of a port forward rule accepting a connection.

You can not test a UDP port connection with those sites

You need the device the port forward rule points to application listening  (running) for inbound connections for a tester to confirm connection, is this the case?

EDIT: new connection from will be the IP Address of the tester

Re: port fowarding

Yes, I have a NAS device listening for port 5006 which I have given it a specific ip address within the ip range for the router

Yes. In the log there is an entry which says "FWL Port Forward Server(my device ip address) TCP 5006 accepted a new connection from 45.33.50.110

But portchecker still reports 5006 is closed? and I still cannot connect to my NAS outside of the internal network

Re: port fowarding

Are you able to connect locally? I'm expecting you can.

Is the NAS default gateway IP Address correct, should be the Hub Two.

Some NAS drives have a  firewall which needs setting up for outside connections to be allowed

Re: port fowarding

@Dan_the_Van  If it's P&P then an application has opened it.

Re: port fowarding

Port is now open.
I have a VPN service installed on the synology for further protection and I needed to select a check box named 'accept multiple gateways'
Although I still cannot access my NAS from outside the network, for now back to synology help pages

Thank you all for your help and suggestions Smiley which did spur me on

Re: port fowarding

I managed to get the port forward open however my synology webdav client is not responding for some unknown reason even though everythng is online and seen by their network.

I am now using a workaround a program called Tailscale, its free for persoanl use, uses Google authentification without the need for port forwarding and can access my files anywhere.
