Noisy line and very faint calls

This is my second set of phones.  I thought the last set was faulty and bought new ones but the fault is still there.  ALL calls to my phone are both noisy and faint.  The help system tells me to plug a corded phone into the master socket. I don't have one of those and I am damned if I am going to buy one just to test a line.  Is this a common fault and will plusnet be able or willing to fix it?

I've tested the line and it's not showing any errors (although that doesn't mean there isn't one). I'll create a support ticket for you to read and reply to at contactus.plus.net with the info we'd need to progress this fault.
