Can you switch off fibre router at night

I know that with an ADSL router the advice is to not turn off at night and I fully understand why - the exchange equipment might interpret it as a fault and lower the data rate.
But with FTTP I assume that does not apply as it doesn't use ADSL
Am I correct - or have I overlooked something?

Hi Mal08,
FTTP uses fully automated line management like FTTC so I'd leave your equipment powered up for that reason.

Interestingly, after reading that thread it transpires that the OP of it never actually disconnected his ONT, only his BT Home Hub. Doing this wouldn't signal a connection drop of sorts.

Having said that though, I would tend to agree that FTTP doesn't utilize line management in the same sense that DSL does, when my FTTP was switched on there was no 'training period' it was simply there at full speed from the get go, therefore I'd say FTTP is all (of your subscribed speed) or nothing
