Upload 9Mbps, Download 5Mbps

Hi, Upraded to VDSL2 a few weeks ago, and it worked very well at around 40Mbps. However, following the increase in upload speed, my download speed has collapsed!  Now its back to ADSL speeds.

A neighbour had a telephone fault over the weekend. BT engineers have been working in the cabinet.

Any thoughts?  Nothing has changed in my home.

Hi Peter, 

It looks like the connection has been dropping recently and that's led to a drop in speeds.

Luckily the reverse has applied today and we just needed to update the speed profile on your account. 

You should see some improvement straight away.

Thanks for looking at this. I have also now logged a fault via phone. Speed is however still only around 5Mbps.

Also, something really strange. When I log the router into the BT test account I get good download, but upload is then slower.

This makes me think the problem is somehow connected to the recent change in upload speed.

This screenshot is the test result when the router is logged into BT TAP3 test.

When the router logged into Plusnet (with general internet access) speed drops back to ~5Mbps

The Router is a Vigor 2760.

One more thought. One of the recent "drop outs" will be me rebooting the router to connect to TAP3.

Still stuck at 5Mbps download. Here are the router stats, but I don't know what any of this means. Unfortunately I did not record typical stats when things were working well.  😞

Still stuck at 5Mbps download. No further response to my ticket 162719391 since the 23rd November.

Rebooted the router, and now getting 38Mbps.

Looks like the problem is fixed, (whatever it was).
