Re: BTw Performance Test via Further Diagnostics

Hi Everyone.
As promised I am updating this forum with news...
I understand that BT have applied a fix which they hope will resolve issues with the speed tester. I am going to be testing this internally this week, but would value your assistance in re-testing your own lines. Please can you provide time-stamped screenshots of any failed performance tests you try to run.
I will then pass these back if they still occur (but hope that they all run as expected now)  Wink

Re: BTw Performance Test via Further Diagnostics

I am beginning to think, there must be another reason why mine is not working.
Kind Regards
Mike

Any chance u could perform some Advanced Diagnostics? Or let BT Openreach know I'll be available any time this week / weekend but I want too make sure what Plusnet are like with Time Related Charges as Talk Talk charged me for having an engineer before and the line was really poor and I can't losing Download / Upload Speeds? 😞

Re: BTw Performance Test via Further Diagnostics

1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download Speed
30.34 Mbps

0 Mbps 77.42 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 30.34 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 40 Mbps-77.42 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 77.42 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
Upload Speed
16.02 Mbps

0 Mbps 20 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 16.02Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

This test was not conclusive and further testing is required. This might be useful for your Broadband Service Provider to investigate the fault.
If you wish to carry out further tests, please click on 'Continue' button. If not, please close the window using 'Exit' button and contact your ISP for further assistance with these results.

Glad to see that the majority are now working. Please do let me know if you have any other issues regarding BTW. I am always happy to push for change.
@I.T. Works
I'll get on to BT first thing when I arrive at the office Mike. I'm sure we can find out why.
I'll drop you a PM if I need any more details.

Re: BTw Performance Test via Further Diagnostics

@Dean
Your speed test result did fail as below:
1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download speedachieved during the test was - 30.34 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 40 Mbps-77.42 Mbps .
IP Profile for your line is - 77.42 Mbps
Before you raise a fault, was this on wired or wireless?
If wireless, then the overheads associated could have impacted the result. If it was wireless, try the test again on a wired connection to see what result you get.  If that also fails, do you know how to create a PPPoE connection via ethernet to the modem?
Was anyone else using the connection when you ran the test (or were you downloading something at the time)?
Again, this can impact the results of the test.
If it still fails having tried the above, please raise a fault at http://faults.plus.net
Our faults team will investigate. With regards to charges, as long as you have proven the fault does not lie internally (ie, tested directly to the modem with no wireless and no other computers connected/in use) then the OR visit has no charge.
Hope this helps.
Steve
