Unable to log in to phpmyadmin on hosted (CCGI) site

Hi,

I have a personal Wordpress site on the hosted CCGI space. It's been working fine on the default setings for a while (I do everything via the Wordpress admin or FTP), but following a recent upgrade I seem to have lost some data.

I intended to go into PHPMyAdmin to take a look at the actual data in an effort to recover it, but I'm finding my old login credentials are no longer working. It seems to default to a username I don't recognise, and my saved password is not valid.

Everything else is fine, MySQL itself, FTP and so on.

Can someone point me at a way to reset the password or gain access please?

Thanks, Jon

So it's been a while since I posted and I never got a response.

Is anyone able to help with resetting or recovering my phpmyadmin credentials please?

Support, perhaps?

Thanks, Jon

Re: Unable to log in to phpmyadmin on hosted (CCGI) site

The way I administered my Wordpress database was to use Adminer from https://www.adminer.org/ rather than phpMyAdmin.

FTP it to the webspace and then navigate to the Adminer php file in a web browser.  Look up your MySQL database name, username, password, and hostname details which will be at the top of your wp-config.php file in your Wordpress files.

https://github.com/vrana/adminer/releases/download/v4.8.1/adminer-4.8.1-en.php

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that - I shall give it a try!

(Happy to abandon phpmyadmin...)

Re: Unable to log in to phpmyadmin on hosted (CCGI) site

If you haven't already got a backup plugin, I can recommend UpDraftPlus ( https://updraftplus.com/ ) free version.
It can backup files and your database and email them or save them to Google Drive, Dropbox etc., on a regular schedule or on demand.
Useful to do a restore if a Wordpress update or Hostopia issue messes up your site.  I also used it to migrate my site to new host recently.
(Other backup plugins are available).
