Static IP PTR reverse DNS

Hi,

I now have a static IP on my Plusnet Broadband connection. At the moment the reverse DNS PTR record for my static IP is my "accountname".plus.com. Which is not ideal from an GDPR point of view. Also as I plan to run my own email server on the static IP ideally need the PTR record to point to FQDN of my mail server hosted on the static IP.

Is it possible to have the PTR reverse DNS record for my plusnet static IP point to an A record in my own personal domain.

Any PN staff on the forum that can help. I called PN support desk and unfortunately they were notable to assist.

Is it possible:

1. To have the rDNS of my static IP be something other than accountname.plus.com

2. Have the rDNS for my static IP point to a FQDN on my personal domain such as smpt1.mydomain.com

Hi Kevin, I can sort that for you. You'll just need to make sure you have the appropriate "forward" DNS record in place first, please let me know when that's done and we'll do the rest.
