Sorry you've left? Sorry, I haven't...

Just received an email which looked genuine, asking me to take part in a survey to possibly win an Amazon voucher.

It stated the sender was sorry I have left.

I'm still here (hopefully) although if my broadband goes off, I'll need to know the reason why!

Re: Sorry you've left? Sorry, I haven't...

@Jaggies  - If I were you, I'd be phoning Plusnet support  IMMEDIATELY  on 03301239123

and get them to check whether someone else has incorrectly initiated a broadband service transfer on your line.

There have been a few cases of the new One Touch Switching system  incorrectly slamming users lines,

resulting in their Plusnet account being closed within 24 hours, with associated loss of email and landline phone line.

If you are in the initial stages of being slammed, Plusnet MIGHT be able to stop it going ahead !.

Re: Sorry you've left? Sorry, I haven't...

Gave support a call. They confirmed no cancellation on my account, so appears to have been a phishing trip.
I've deleted the email, but kept a copy of the headers, in case anyone wants a look?

Weirdly enough @Jaggies that is a genuine PN message. I  can only suspect the system messed up and sent it to the wrong recipient.

@Champnet That site 'doesn't like it', but I've had the odd message from the same source (when I was with PN). I may be wrong...

Sorry You've Left Survey - most likely a scam email ?

Recent email to my PN address. I presume it's a scam so just a heads up for anyone else receiving them but hopefully PN can confirm that it definitely is a scam message being sent to long since compromised PN email addresses various and not a shiny new compromised PN system somewhere !

I've no idea what the html version of the message looks like. I only ever use plain text and block incoming html by default. Maybe the links are actually different in the html version of course though. What you see isn't always what you get when it comes to links in html messages and all that Tongue

Needless to say, no links were clicked or downloaded in the reading of thIs message !

Happy to PM the complete message incl headers should anyone feel the need to see it.

PS: As far as I know, I havent left PN ... yet Wink

Re: Sorry You've Left Survey - most likely a scam email ?

@mikeb you're the 2nd one to receive this , see here https://community.plus.net/t5/Plusnet-Feedback/Sorry-you-ve-left-Sorry-I-haven-t/m-p/2015385#M90083

If you don't mind I'll ask the mods to merge the threads.

I'll also escalate to check if spam or not and if not why are they being sent.

Re: Sorry you've left? Sorry, I haven't...

Thanks Mr.W Smiley

Sorry, I didn't see the other similar post.

My message is indeed very much the same as the one posted previously. It's also virtually identical in terms of source, routing, formatting and link construction etc. to the various messages being sent out regarding the imminent off-loading of PN email services to Greenby !!!!!

However, this message was sent to my main PN A/C and not any of those historic F9 A/Cs where email has been/might be/will be migrated to Greenby at some point in the immediate future as opposed to at some currently undefined point in time. The messages regarding this migration have been somewhat, shall we say, chaotic, incorrect, misleading and in fact downright contradictory to date.

Maybe this is just another system glitch and/or misinformation email Wink
