Well - that answers one question. It's OR and not one of the alternative supplies.

Keeps your eyes open for further work and for WBC FTTP to appear in the Checker results.

Finally got the notification that fibre is available.  Sadly its from Virgin Media and i dont want to go with them as they progressively hike the prices and you only get the one email address. 

Also dont relish the prospect of changing emails on so many banks, shops and websites.

So looks like I will remain as 70Mbits with plusnet

I dont see why Virgin can get away with the monopoly over gigabit.  They claim its because of their own infrastructure but if one network couldnt talk to another then the internet wouldnt work at all.

TBH the only time I could do with slightly more is in MS flightsim 2024 when you fly anything over 200knotts, the streamed scenery cant quite keep up lol..

Just spoke to plusnet who said since the Openreach status has gone from “by dec2026” to “Not yet available “ it means Openreach are actively working on it. So hopefully plusnet will email me sometime to say fibre is available from them. So I’ll wait and see. Not entirely sure that’s correct but will do for now.

You could keep reviewing the Checker on a reguslar basis to see if (or when) it updates to show WBC FTTP as available. This might be quicker than waiting for an OR emial to say it's ready.

Has the Checker status updated to "coming soon" or anything similar?

Since PN is offloading the domain/email services anyway, I’ll line go with VM after all so have spent last couple of weeks swapping or deleting email addresses for many many websites and services. Nearly done. Something I probably should have done a long time ago to prevent this lock into plusnet.

@Mouldy  Don't quite understand your reasoning there, Plusnet are transferring the e-mail service to Greenby so users of Plusnet email and all the legacy email brands and domains can continue to use their existing email addresses with no changes.

Well I haven’t had the notification of email migration yet and would like faster connection. If I switch before I get migrated to Greenby, I will lose the email addresses

Mostly ok apart from some situations in Flightsim 2024 which now streams all the scenery and planes where it occasionally falls behind with my 70-75 mbits.
