Re: Freenetname. Cannot send emails. But can receive

Hi @chuckles

I know this is the basic thing to try but have you attempted to remove and add back in your freenetname account into outlook?

What outgoing and incoming server are you using for outlook?

Thanks,

Lex

Re: Freenetname. Cannot send emails. But can receive

Yup., did all that.

Incoming is 110 and have tried both 587 and 25 on outgoing.

I keep getting a   "  554 avasout-peh 003  smtp ESMTP server not available. "  message

I've also done a spam check thing on my IP address etc and all clear.,

Re: Freenetname. Cannot send emails. But can receive

@chuckles unfortunately neither your first post or the latest ones give the full details of the error message

Can you try the email diagnostics from here https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/Diagnosing-email-server-connectivity-issues-the-guide/m-p/200795... please, particularly the SMTP one and report the results

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Freenetname. Cannot send emails. But can receive

Yes. The error I am getting is this..........

Send test e-mail message: Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).  The server responded: 554 avasout-ptp-003 smtp ESMTP server not available

Re: Freenetname. Cannot send emails. But can receive

That’s not what was requested.  Please run the email server connection diagnostics using the link below.

That will test your ability to connect to the mail services without confusing messages from an email client which do not tell you what’s really wrong.

Re: Freenetname. Cannot send emails. But can receive

This is what I get when I run the test via powershell

* Host smtpmail.freenetname.co.uk:587 was resolved.
* IPv6: (none)
* IPv4: 212.159.8.233, 212.159.9.233
* Trying 212.159.8.233:587...
* Connected to smtpmail.freenetname.co.uk (212.159.8.233) port 587
< 554 avasout-peh-003 smtp ESMTP server not available (blacklisted by local policy)
* Got unexpected smtp-server response: 554
* closing connection #0
curl: (8) Got unexpected smtp-server response: 554

Great - that’s unambiguous.

I will see what I can find out.
