Just set your outgoing server to use the shaw server temporarily whilst you are in Vancouver.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

I encounter the same problem in the US and got advice from the forums to change my outgoing server to Roadrunner and problem solved.  I have just arrived in Spain and will have to change the setting to Telefonica.
