Copy emails to sender being duplicated

I routinely copy emails I send from my Ipad using Mail back to myself just so I can view them on my ipad and on the iMac.
One  I sent on Friday was delivered just once to the recipient but I have had multiple copies sent to me, how do I stop this?

Never happened before

oh, clearing out webmail didn't help

Re: Copy emails to sender being duplicated

How have you configured email on the two devices?

If both are correctly configured as IMAP, you will see all sent items on all devices without the added complications of self-copy.

The Apple mail options on iPhones / iPad have a "Always Bcc Myself" option - if you have that set and you "routinely copy emails ... back to myself" by adding a cc or bcc manually, then indeed you will receive tow copies.

Thanks Townman
Will look at imap option, iPad certainly using POP

more concerned about stopping the multiple copies daily since Friday

do use the "always Bcc self " setting but nothing else

bear in mind this is a one off, never come up before

tried posting raw data from email but it wont accept it for some reason
