The other sockets were inactive when the front plate was off the master socket.

@DaddyG, it does look as though the Target SNRM has gone to 12dB with the consequential reduction in sync speed to 8867. We'll see if one of the DCT could post your Connection chart (PPP radius log) and if there are no disconnects over the weekend showing your line is stable, you could ask for an SNR reset.

Also, I've just found out there is no PPP disconnect on my bloody router, so won't touch it over the weekend.
10am yesterday was when I checked the master socket and it disconnected.

You WILL get a better result if ONLY the one extension has the ADSL signal on it.
So, going back to the original question and now we understand more of what you have, the answer is YES, if you proceed as follows:
1. Install a filtered faceplate which has BOTH filtered and unfiltered connections on the back.
2. Connect the phone-only extension to the filtered terminals
3. Connect the router extension to the unfiltered terminals
4. Retain a filter at the extension socket by the router
As I think was noted earlier, the extra 15metres or so should have negligible effect, unless it's untwisted cable.
