In my experience, BT Openreach engineers are about as reluctant to pass though your door as you are to let them in; they will try all other options first.  However it might be necessary to get your fault fixed.

I'm hopeful that this has actually improved your performance.
Your line is currently banded (due to previous problems).  I've just asked one of our faults team to reset the line for you.
Can you give it a few hours and see if you notice an improvement in the sync speed? Profiles may take a bit longer to catch up.

There is a little improvement with speed but only 2.55Meg so I guess still faraway from original speed.

I think it is still waiting for the BT profile to update.  The sync speed is about 800% better than it was yesterday.

Well here is an update for all of you whom are interested of the outcome of BT visit.
NO he is not dead left my place in great help and spirit.
So lets get to technicals;
He gets here checks lines 5 mins job done sinc speed 19 Meg!
[Censored] then? Checks everything with his magic tools all works well check download speed 1.85 Meg...
Attempts to call you waiting and waiting...I call you waiting and waiting.
Finally gets to you guys just to get an answer that there is a 2 Meg cap on my broadband!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now after 3 mins, boradband speed up to 17 Meg...
Thank you for wasting our time
Do NOT dare to come back with the gibberish of temporary capping I am not buying it!!!
