Thanks for the suggestions guys, one good thing is that the eldest's PC has developed a problem with the HD so for the last couple of days he has been off MSN/facebook and out of his bedroom which is a rare bonus! I will stick with the Pro package this month and see how we go.

Me too, early evening through to aroun 10pm ish is surely the busiest time, hence thats why plusnet apply most throttling during that time. Whilst businesses send a lot of emails and the like, the heavy downloading of music, video etc and iplayer watching tends to occur when people and especially kids. get home
