Hi
After getting an email from Plusnet about reaching my download limit i checked the usage. All of a sudden its very high. For example yesterday my usage was over 1gb when I wasn't at my computer for half the day and then I was only doing email stuff.
Is there a way to check what I am downloading/uploading over a given period?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Hi Editpoint
You can get a breakdown of what type of usage you have had via the member centre then view my usage (https://www.plus.net/view_my_broadband_usage/index.php) this will give you a basic overview of whats been used.
If its a sudden spike of usage it could be down to Windows updates or if you have a tablet/smart phone then maybe software updates on there.

Yes thank you, I realise that.
I was looking at finding something that would tell me what exactly the downloads were, what sites created the downloads etc.
I just need to find out why my downloads have suddenly increased. I assume the W10 download would have just been one download. That doesnt explain why "my usage" has increased so much over a period.

Not sure you can find out after its happened unless there is some windows log somewhere that saves this (maybe someone else knows if there is one), you can try network monitor on windows to see what its doing now or there are various 3rd party network monitor programs you could try.

Make sure you aren't sharing Windows Updates with the rest of the world!
To get to that screen follow settings->Update & security->Advanced options->Choose how updates are delivered

@markhawkin No Apple devices!
@Browni Interesting. Didn't know this setting. It was set to share with other PCs on the Internet. Not now!
Lets see if that fixes the downloading problem.
Thanks

Remember Plusnet will also count your uploading as well.

Just in case anybody wants to know. The downloading is now back to my normal levels.
I think turning off the Windows 10 sharing thing fixed the problem.
Thanks @Browni
