Upgrade to FTTC?

Hi,
I'm currently on the ADSL2+ trial and was wondering what the benefits of FTTC might be.  The openreach site is a little confusing on the subject but I believe my exchange (HEATON MOOR) has been upgraded (at least according to this http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/products/nga/downloads/FTTC_%20pot_exchs.pdf) .
Does anyone know if this is something plusnet offer and, probably more importantly, would I want it?

Re: Upgrade to FTTC?

If you'd like a considerable speed hike, then I reckon you might want to be on FTTC Smiley
Pretty sure that that's the list of exchanges due to be done in the second batch which I believe is early next year.

Re: Upgrade to FTTC?

Thanks James, that is the kind of reason I can relate to!  Smiley
Do you know how I might find out what the exchange status is?  More generally is there a way for anyone to find out the status of an exchange?

Asking me often works Smiley
Otherwise I suspect that the BT Availability Checker will be amended to incorporate that information.

Re: Upgrade to FTTC?

from clicking the net it seems that some people think the bt checker has already been updated.
for an easier way to see the list of fttc exchanges, or just to see how close fttc is - this looks cool http://nextgenerationaccess.com/How/BTFTTC/btfttc.html#
