i have been getting frequent drops that result in my snr rising and my profile and speed lowering ,
It will sometimes reconnect with the same upstream snr and speed but a lower down speed snr and speed , at the moment i am synced at down speed snr 9.4 and a sync speed of 3808kbps and an up speed of 7db snr and speed of 256kbps. i normaly sync at up 16db snr and down 6db snr, .
Since my last drop when i reconnected to these messed up snr and upstream speed i have not had a drop, would this indicate a problem with equipment in the exchange or cabinet.
i still have a ticket open with fault logged for broadband do i need to open another for line fault ?

Quote from: lenny I have not suffered 10 drops in a day , Plusnet support said this was acceptable in a message the sent to me,
That's what I was referring to, sorry my very brief comment left the wring impression. Who do Plusnet think they are kidding!
Quote from: lenny i was just on the phone and the connection dropped again ,ended my call straight away and did a quiet line test loud crackling and heavy static noise and the connection dropped again , its very windy here today and as we live right on the coast its very open
It's very clear you have a phone line fault. I suspect the agent dealing with your fault is a CSC agent rather than a more experienced "BOT - DSL Logged Faults" person who would probably have spotted this was a phone line issue by now and dealt with it as such.
IIRC you can't have two faults open on the line, so either one of the CRT will have to ensure this now gets addressed as a phone-line fault or if that fails, close this ticket with an appropriate remark, and open a new phone fault (assuming your line rental is with Plusnet).

Upstream rate = 256 Kbps, Downstream rate = 3808 Kbps
SNR (dB): down 9.6 up 7.0
we have just had a power cut and when the power returned it synced at
Upstream rate = 448 Kbps, Downstream rate = 3904 Kbps
SNR (dB): down 8.6 up 16.0
will see now how long it stays connected
nothing changed in the house so if its starts dropping again there's definitely a fault on the line or exchange
can i get an snr resync please
