Re: Plusnet premium speed problems

Unless you have a filtered face plate you must have filters in every extension that has anything plugged in. With a filtered face plate the extensions are wired to the telephone side of the back of the face plate and then you can get away without filters.

Re: Plusnet premium speed problems

In which case I have no idea what killed the ipProfile unless when initially setting up the broadband the phone wasn't fiiltered.
All you can do now is wait for the ipprofile to recover.

Re: Plusnet premium speed problems

I assume you have a microfilter plugged in to the master socket. This is probably a little splitter box with a 6 inch lead with two sockets, one marked ADSL in to which you have plugged your router and one for a telephone. Is your telephone plugged in to that?

Re: Plusnet premium speed problems

OK That's as it should be.
You need to keep an eye on the IP Profile for a few days. It should come up to near your sync speed. If it doesn't you'll need to start investigating why not.

Re: Plusnet premium speed problems

Hi rbagnall
I've had a quick look at your account.
The ticket raised was initially for 'no connection' so the automated tests done at the time won't be relevant to your current issues.
As Jelv says, you need to leave it connected for a while and your line speed and speed profile should increase in due course.
If they don't then we'll take a look for you.  There's more on this if you want to read up here: http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/
