Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

Just had the email saying I'm in area with it and don't want it, rather stay on my Stable fixed 2mbit than the nightmare of 21CN after following the beta testing section.
So is it coming, if so when/where?

Re: Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

The email you received is about moving you to 21CN but keeping you on your current 'Up to 8Mbps' offering. We're doing it because of this.
You needn't worry though as I've opted you out now so you won't be upgraded Smiley

Re: Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

Does this mean that when my exchange is upgraded I will be moved to 21CN whether I like it or not.
And then I won't be able to tweak my default noise margin anymore

Re: Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

I hope not Jim, I just about hold onto a maximum 8128k synch at 8db on my line. Goodness knows what a mess the 21CN MSAN would make of it given some of the reports in the 21CN forum, even if it was restricted to 8mb. I for one don't want my speed ruined!!!

Re: Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

Looks like I have been put on 21CN after all, had what I thought was a stale session around 4.40pm Saturday  night and then found I could no longer access any PN hosted site but all other sites.
So thinking of sods law  I finally tried changing my routers modulation from G.DMT to ADSL2+ auto sense and could then access all the web sites again.
Change back to G.DMT ad I can't access community/portal/email servers.
So why have I been put on 21CN?

if its an auto shift you should be forced on g.dmt 992.1 modulation. i didnt think they was doing any auto shifts from 20cn to 21cn adsl2+

Re: Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

Gus,
If it's the same email I received it states you should not have to do anything with your router and you will be moved over onto ADSL, not ADSL2/2+.
You need to raise a ticket and let PN know of your problem in case it is affecting others.

Re: Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

I switched back to G.DMT after a few tests last night and could access them again but see from the newsgroups where I could only access at that time, theres some others affected as well.

Gus this might not be ADSL2+ related as it looks like the pcl-ag03 gateway is ever-so-slightly stuffed. See http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,80908.0.html. If you were allocated this gateway then PN sites aren't reachable.

Tweakability doesn't appear to be affected (for me) regardless of G.DMT (ADSL1) on 20CN and ADSL2 on 21CN.
Don't know about G.DMT (ADSL1) on 21CN though. Cheesy

Jeremy, It's not tweakability I'm worried about , its the 'over active' DLM that seems to be prevalent on the 21CN MSAN's. My connection isn't tweaked at all, my 2700HGV router manages to synch at the max for ADSL1 with about 8db headroom, thats with an attenuation of 31db. At this speed I average about 500-600 errored seconds/day, and a nice stable connection for days/weeks on end. Given some of the reports in the 21CN forums I'm just a tad concerned that it's all going to go to pot if I'm moved to 21CN with it's present status.

I am on Value, Full 8128 Synch, why do I need 21cn as that will still give me 8128 max

Re:Opt out for 21CN anytime soon?

Hi guys,
When we start doing full on product migrations we'll have an opt-out process defined. However, whilst we're doing smaller migrations you'll just need to respond to the ticket or shout up here if you don't want the 21CN goodness.
