I've just moved house in rural Kent and already had ADSL2+ on a reasonably long/attenuated line. The new place is on the same trunk but at the other end of the village. Where I used to get 3Mb/s and the very occasional drop-out at 6dB margin I'm now finding that my routers (tried both DG834G v2 and a 2700HGV) are always trying to sync with a 6dB margin. The noise on my line varies hugely over the day. During daytimes I can always connect at 2mb/s but in the mornings that has re-synced to 576kb/s at the last count. The line has done this every day for 3 weeks and still there's just a 6dB noise margin and no interleaving. I thought the DLM would try and compensate for these failings. I'm dropping out of sync every few hours and have huge numbers of errors and no connectivity.
Is this an actual line fault or just a marginal line that needs capping, and how long do I have to wait for it to settle down? I have a fault logged but not sure if it's just my location at the end of the line.

P.S BT Openreach did change the line pair to the exchange 2 weeks ago after a noisy voice circuit was heard, but these symptoms have remained the same throughout.
