How long should changing to 8mbps take?

I asked to "upgrade" to 8mbps 2 weeks ago and was well prepared for a certain amount of instability as forewarned by PlusNet and for the first few days all went well...varying speeds (generally increasing) but then a week ago my broadband connection became unobtainable.
I can get on no problem (the green light on the adsl modem is stable etc) and all is as it should be
Then when I navigate away from the homepage everything drops
Is this a symptom of upgrading???
If so how long can I expect this to go on for as it is a real pain at the moment
I am getting online via the 0845 dial up number but this is costing money all the time
It wouldn't be so bad if I could use dial up for free until BB is orted
Any ideas welcome....

No it's not normal.
Either raise  a ticket or give them a call - call would probably be better

Re: How long should changing to 8mbps take?

OK...thanks for the replies
To address them in turn:
1) I have raised a "ticket" but didn't get a 0808 number given to me
Who should I ask?
2)
From my limited computer experience I will try to answer PJ's questions:
a) I use a ZyXel prestige 630s modem (as supplied by PlusNet)
b) I have set the BBC page as my homepage via my browser (Firefox) although I get the same thing happen if I use IE or opera
c) The dsl light remains constant when i navigate away from the home page.....sometimes I can connect to 2 maybe 3 pages but then the browser just keeps looking and eventually tells me it can not find it
More often it happens when navigating from Firefox or BBC
d)If you mean Plus Net product I am on BBYW option 3 (upto 20 GB) I haven't set transfer watch as I never use anywhere near 20GB
e) I haven't changed my username or password at all
I hope this helps you help me because I am at a loss!!

Hi,
I've had a look at the ticket and posted an answer on there, please let us know and we'll push the investigation on further.
Hope this helps,

Re: How long should changing to 8mbps take?

No...the modem remains connected
The problem seems to be receiving data back
Looking at the "Modem information window" I see activity in the transmit bar but nothing in the receive
God knows why though!!
