Getting tired of this

My broadband is up and down like a brides nighty!!!

I have taken out my own router and replaced it with the Plusnet standard one, same old same old.

Seems like dsl drop outs, recovers pretty quick but its not good enough

Can someone please take a look? I am getting a DSL service for free since you screwed up my fibre. But i'd still rather pay someone else than deal with this!!!

Re: Getting tired of this

Have you contacted support and raised a ticket, could be a number of things causing the problem, when contacting them supply as much information as possible and thay will help and sort out your problems.

The ticket system is beyond awful. Unless you're happy to be without broadband for weeks

Re: Getting tired of this

Have you thought about doing some basic checks?

Do you have a clear phone line, dial 17070 option 2 - is it quiet?

What lights are on/off on the router?

Are you connected wired or WiFi?

Re: Getting tired of this

@higgy1981 Not answering the question @Mustrum asked above doesn't help anyone to help you, so I'll ask again:

What is the result of a quiet line test?

You say the lights on the router are all in the 'fault' condition -OK

Are you connected wired or wireless?

One from me - can you post the details from the Helpdesk tab on your router - redacting any personally identifiable data?

Re: Getting tired of this

I'm not at home so the info i have access to is limited.

I woke up on Tuesday morning to no broadband. It has been up and down ever since then. Its pointless me telling you what the lights are doing, as they change all the time (orange flash, green, blue - repeat).

I have tried wired and wireless. My ticket says i've had 20 drop outs in 24 hours, 50 in 72 hours.

I have just tried logging in from work (using TeamViewer) to get the Helpdesk info you asked for, my router wont let me in!

Message says incorrect password, even though i know its right and could log in earlier.

Re: Getting tired of this

OK, understand about the limited info.

The only suggestion I have is to get an engineer out, as I assume you have, as far as possible, eliminated your internal setup and wiring.

Re: Getting tired of this

+1 jab1 Best thing to do is have support send out an Openreach engineer, I suspect a faulty line or BT equipment at the exchange either way it can be sorted out in a matter of days.

Hi there,

Yes, it looks like an engineer visit is needed.

I've just added a response to your account with some info about that.

Re: Getting tired of this

I'm interested to see what the notes from the engineer visit say.

I wasn't at home but my partner was. I'll wait until i hear the full story but it sounds like it went something like this...

1. 'Its your wiring' (fixed and replaced old phone socket).

2. 'There is also a problem at the exchange'. Guy disappeared to fix it.

3. Guy comes back. 'Its your router, must be a power fault.'

Guy disappeared to next job, leaving my broadband light flashing orange.

It may well be working as no one is home just now, however i cant login t my home PC using Team Viewer so its looking pretty doubtful

Re: Getting tired of this

Still no further forward. Complete radio silence from anyone at Plusnet.

Becoming a joke company, the forum is littered with people with the same problem. GET IT SORTED

Thanks, but the ticket update means nothing to me?
