Hi,
Just to humour me (though hopefully more) please could my broadband speed be manually set to 8000 Kbps at your end.
Currently its 7000, and BT is 7150. I know in theory its not supposed to make a difference, but historically I was always set at 8000 and I'm sure I got slightly faster top end speeds.
My user name is "jonfitton"
Thanks in advance,
Jon.

Hi Jon,
Changing it from 7000 to 8000 will actually make your maximum attainable throughput slightly lower.
Our 7000Kbps profile is configured slightly higher than 7000, but a tiny bit below BTs 7150Kbps as there is less packet loss across our network on ours than on BTs meaning that there is a higher possibly throughput when using, for example, 7125Kbps than 7150Kbps.
It's a bit confusing, but take my word for it.
