Broadband usage with plus.net

I have just found a program that lets you watch TV programs from around the world
It looks really good since I live in an area where I cant get Freeview
I dont think I would watch it excessively
My main concern is wether or not I would hit my limits on bandwidth allowance.
Does anyone know if there is a way I can meter my usage so that I can keep a check on it?

Re: Broadband usage with plus.net

If you know what bitrate the stream uses you can calculate your usage when viewing it. Most viewers will show you the bitrate.
If its 128Kbs (Kilobits/second) them devide by 8 to get the number of bytes (16KB/s) then multiple by 60 to get the usage per minute (960KB/m) or approx 1MB/minute.
You can monitor you peak and off-peak usage via the View My Broadband Usage page on the portal under connection settings. This is up to 2 hours behind so make allowances for that.

If you're running Windows you might like to have a look at NetLimiter: http://www.netlimiter.com
