Unfortunately, if the banding is removed, it's likely to get automatically banded again, if nothing has changed and whatever caused it to be banded the first time is still ongoing. I guess they'll be reluctant to removed the banding while the Indicative Line Quality remains Red.
Plusnet staff are usually more active on these forums than they've been for the last couple of days, at least during office hours.

Finally got a response from the faults team, and it is apparently due to the wiring in my property.  Only problem is, there is no extra wiring in my property, I have a BT master socket and NO extensions, so, go figure! 
Maybe the socket has become faulty since switching over, or my wife has had a couple of phone extensions put in without me knowing, I will need to check when I get home 
On the plus side, someone is at least looking into it which is novel.
