Is the reason for PPP dropping that sync is lost? Then sync restored but the PPP connection fails to authenticate?
I think you said elsewhere that interleaving was off, it might be worth trying with it on to see whether that helps. Or possibly one of the increased stability options that Fletch mentioned here, though I'm not aware of any follow up from that post.

try not to resync and instead log into your router and find the disconnect reconnect option on the internet only.
might save you having to resync your line.

my router is having some police line do not cross tape round it tomoro and if the DLM dosent drop my line and resync with 4544 9db within a weeks uptime then you can stay in smug mode intill your forced on to BTw's 21cn 
p.s does bbc iplayer HD play o.k on 3500 profile or does it still stutter?

(smug mode) bet oldjims DLM dosent drop his noise margin so quick
DLM droped my line this morning and came back up with a 15db target instead of 18db ( all ways happens at 9.50am-10.00am every time it drops or raises my noise margin)

looking at the dates ive posted about target changes it also seems to happen monday morinigs even if the unstablitiy was seen on the line a few days before the monday.
this last drop from 18 to 15db looks like it took bang on week to drop the target

my line has been relesed from the fixed sync monster.
i can now sync like i did on adsl at about 6pm ish to set bitloading up on fastpath for night time noise levels

since the above post i was stuck on a 3074 sync for months on end.
Which i got released from a week ago and was left on 15db target noise margin. Bang on midnight its just droped me down to a 12db noise margin. (which made a game of operation flashpoint i was hosting come to an end and being bang on midnight i was screaming murder towards plusnet till i came an checked routerstats   )
hopefully the DLM stays at this noise margin and leaves my line alone now ( guess what bang on the same as adsl ran stable at on my line) its only taken since april the 7th for the DLM to learn my line

the dlm has been a compele idiot to me and have leaving my router  constantly connected at 12db @ 3668kbps for a full month its now gone and droped me down to 9db noise margin which i know my fastpath line hates and my error counts are going to go sky high and i will happily bet £100 that when it sees IT's messed up it will chuck me on a 15db noise margin and band me to a fixed 3072 sync again for months meaning i lose 500kbps in throughput.
why o why o god dam why
EDIT. think am going to do a resync during the night to try and get that sync as close to the 3000kbps profile sync theshold

i will collect my £100 right now thank you  
just nipped out and when i came back couldnt get any net. tried pinging the pcl gateway and was getting bucketfuls of packet loss. so i scratch my head before looking at the below graph.
note to the DLM if it anit broke dont fix it.
just gave it reboot and its only gone down to 4000kbps so am going to give dmt a twirl and gentely raise the noise margin some

used routerstats to tweak snr by 133% in the end. did it in stages and thank god am just 40kbps above the 3000kbps profile theshold

yeah the errors started at same time as my snr droped for night time anotherone
